Our Story and Where we are now

In 1999, Bro Jerry Smith and John Bryant spent hours in prayer and discussion about the way God was opening doors, the great need among our churches for a video ministry and how we could effectively use Jerry’s gifts and talents to help missionaries and churches of the ABA. The result of that was the forming of ABAmedia. Our desire was to be a blessing to missionaries and ministries throughout the ABA and many of you have partnered with us to accomplish this task.

Our desire has not changed, but as we should all be aware of by now, the methods required to reach the current generation is always evolving. We’ve recently taken steps to re-evaluate the purpose of ABAmedia and feel that there are 3 areas that need our focus.

  • The 1st is Video & Audio Production. This is simply us producing videos as we have for years whether it be on location or in our Studio here in Texarkana. The videos we produce are used to help raise support and awareness for missions, advertise churches in their communities, and promote various ministries throughout the ABA.
  • The 2nd is to provide Technical Training and Equipment Installation. We often get questions dealing with purchasing, troubleshooting, & repairing everything from cameras and sound equipment to software and computers. We also frequently get asked about how to stream services online as well as how to install and use this equipment.
  • And 3rd is Scriptural Teaching Tools. For that, we have partnered with Bro. Joel Dillahunty sent out by Flatwoods Baptist Church.

It may come as no surprise that the influence of Christianity in the United States is waning. Rates of church attendance, religious affiliation, belief in God, prayer and Bible reading have been dropping for decades. Americans’ beliefs are becoming more post Christian and religious identity is changing.

The percentage of Generation Z, or those born after 1999, that identify as atheist is double that of the U.S. adult population. We, the Lord’s churches, seem to have been caught unprepared with the drastic turn the culture has taken against Biblical Christianity. Teens, along with young adults, struggle to find a compelling argument for the existence of God, traditional marriage and Biblical principles in general.

Plans for this part of our ministry include lessons and honest discussions dealing with issues facing believers today. Simply put, our goal is to provide you the help needed to answer the hard questions.

These discussions will be shared on Social Media and be available for download on our website, with prayers that they will be used in many churches.

We ask that you partner with us in praying for ABAmedia and sharing our content with others, so that we might be more effective. If you are interested in helping this ministry financially, see the information below.

For those that have partnered with us over the years through prayers and finances, we thank you so much for your faithful and continued support.

Times and technology have dramatically changed since we first started and we are excited about the direction and plans for the future of ABAmedia.

1 Peter 3:15
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”
